The Volunteer Tutoring Program at UW–Madison matches employees and visiting scholars with tutors for 1-to-1 instruction. Learners identify their goals. Many learners want to explore or work on topics such as: • English conversation • Basic English reading and writing • United States culture How the Program Works Tutors can get free training from statewide nonprofit Wisconsin Literacy. Learners and tutors agree on the meeting times and locations that work best for them. Volunteering is open to UW employees, students, and area community members.
