UW-River Falls
The UW-River Falls Science Olympiad Border Battle Invitational is a Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) team competition for high school students. The event brings 60 teams from Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota & beyond. Throughout the one-day event, students compete in 28 events including: -Knowledge-based (study/test) -Hands-on lab activities -Engineering builds -Hybrid multi-task challenges Each team includes up to 15 students, plus coaches & chaperones, which means more than 900 visitors on campus! All Day Event Supervisor: Designs and runs an event based on event rules/guidelines and manages event support volunteers to run and score the event. Subject knowledge and/or teaching experience required. Contact Jamie.schneider@uwrf.edu with questions/interest. 2. Event Support Volunteer: Assigned to assist event supervisors in running a competitive event within this building. Generally, no subject matter expertise is required. Grading, scoring, timing, and observing are common roles. People wanting a full day, sign up for morning and afternoon overlapping shifts in the same building. Lunch provided to volunteers working the morning shifts. 3. Ambassador Volunteer: Assigned to welcome building visitors and volunteers to help coordinate traffic, questions, lunches, and to help promote a positive Falcon experience.
