EXPLORING THE NATURAL World OF ONʌYOTEˀa·ká· (4-6 Grade), 8-3pm, August 3,5,7, 2026

UW-Green Bay

Staff from the Oneida Nation and UW-Green Bay will lead campers on a journey to explore the amazing and beautiful natural world for their fifth annual camp! During the first and last days of this 3-day camp, students will hike marshes, grasslands, and forests on Oneida Nation land and discover plants, plant medicines, birds, bugs, frogs, and other wildlife at four sites Oneida has restored from agricultural lands. Students will participate in scavenger hunts, search for and identify wildlife, catch fish and invertebrates, and gain hands-on experiences with nature. Oneida Tribal Elder and Cultural Leader Randy (Tehahuko’tha) Cornelius will take the campers on a cultural and spiritual journey, helping them connect with nature and Oneida culture. On the second day, campers will visit the UW-Green Bay campus, making stops at the Center for First Nations Education to meet Indigenous professors, the Pride Center, and the Multicultural Resource Center. Campers will be offered the option to participate in nature-related arts, crafts, and games and or to visit the Richter Museum of Natural History and Fewless Herbarium to gain hands-on experience handling animal and plant specimens. The camp is free with a goodie bag and food included! We hope you join us.
